Responsibilities of the Software Engineer at StackBlitz
- Develop new features and functionalities within WebContainer’s core using TypeScript, Rust, and WebAssembly.
- Enhance Node.js compatibility with WebContainer and explore support for additional programming languages and runtime environments.
- Contribute to security improvements and assist open-source projects like Node.js Core and Next.js in adopting WebAssembly as an alternative to native binaries.
- Create code examples and educational content to help the Rust and Node.js communities produce smaller and more efficient WebAssembly binaries.
- Improve the in-browser development tools we offer, such as the shell and npm clients.
Key Qualifications for the Software Engineer at StackBlitz
- You possess a strong understanding of core Node.js APIs, including file systems, networking, and cryptography.
- 5+ years of experience in Web Development utilizing browser-based APIs, with a strong emphasis on JavaScript and less on UI development with CSS and HTML.
- 5+ years of experience using JavaScript and TypeScript.
- You have experience with end-to-end testing (Puppeteer) and unit testing (Jest).
- You are able to succeed in situations where things aren’t always clearly defined and can work independently.
- You can quickly grasp new technologies and systems.
- Demonstrate empathy towards customers, team members, and yourself.
- You have strong problem-solving abilities, a positive mindset, and a desire for team success.
- Possess excellent communication skills, particularly when discussing technical subjects.
