The Social Media Strategist for Communiqué will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with the company’s mission of providing information and resources that help people understand and benefit from Africa’s creative economy.
You will create, curate, and manage content that builds the Communiqué brand, fosters audience growth, drives newsletter subscriptions, and promotes events such as the Creative Circle.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of digital media trends and a passion for amplifying stories that resonate with audiences across Africa and globally.

Required Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a Social Media Strategist, preferably in media, journalism, or creative industries.
- Proven track record of growing social media presence and driving engagement.
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms, tools, and analytics (e.g., Twitter/X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Buffer, Hootsuite).
- Experience with content creation, including graphics, video, and multimedia storytelling.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft engaging copy tailored to specific audiences.
- Creative Vision: Ability to generate creative ideas that resonate with a diverse audience while maintaining the brand’s voice.
- Analytical Skills: Proficient in analyzing social media performance metrics and making data-driven decisions.
- Adaptability: Ability to pivot strategies quickly in response to platform changes or audience feedback.
- Collaboration: Experience working closely with editorial, marketing, and design teams to ensure cohesive social media efforts.
- Trend Awareness: Keen understanding of media and digital trends, especially in Africa’s creative economy.
