Background
The Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) Commission is the dedicated technocratic institution for the sustainable development of the Southwest Region.
DAWN Commission, was set up by the Governments of the Southwest States of Nigeria as the institutional and programme management body to midwife their Regional Integration Agenda
Responsibilities for the Research and Data Analyst role at Dawn Commission
- Conduct comprehensive Data analysis and generate reports.
- Work with team leaders to attend to specific data needs of each desk.
- Identifying patterns and trends in data sets, draw valid inferences, and report the outcome successfully to management using appropriate reporting tools.
- Generate, document, and track key performance indicators.
- Liaise with internal and external clients where necessary to fully understand data content.
- Prepare reports for internal and external audiences using organization analytical reporting tools.
- Ensure timely and constant update of organization database and records.
- Engage with relevant data stakeholders in the public sector, private sector, and international data agencies.
- Ability to travel within and outside Southwest Region within short notice.
Required Experience and Skills for Research and Data Analyst role at Dawn Commission
- Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related discipline.
2-3 years of experience in data analysis, data management, or a related field.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and software like Tableau, Power Bi, or Similar
Experience with Big Data technologies and frameworks (e.g. Spark, Hadoop) can be a plus
Experience in designing and implementing data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.
Strong quality and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- A strong ambition to work in a development organization.
