Responsibilities of the Community Manager at Python Nigeria
- Manage and grow Python Nigeria’s online presence across various social media platforms
- Provide support and follow up with community organizers to ensure smooth operations of local Python events
- Lead the organization of the annual PyCon Nigeria conference
- Coordinate and manage volunteers for various PyNigeria initiatives
- Deliver weekly updates to the PyNigeria board on community activities and progress
- Represent PyNigeria at relevant events, which may occasionally require travel
- Cultivate a welcoming and inclusive environment for all community members
Role Requirements for the Community Manager at Python Nigeria
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational and project management abilities
- Experience in community management or organizing large-scale events
- Familiarity with the Python programming language and its ecosystem (technical proficiency not required)
- Ability to work independently and take initiative without close supervision
- Resident in Nigeria with a good understanding of the local tech community
- Proficiency in using social media platforms for community engagement
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new skills as needed
