Responsibilities of the Backend Engineer at OrgByte
- Build new features and capabilities into WebContainer’s kernel using TypeScript, Rust, and WebAssembly.
- Improve how well Node.js works with WebContainer and look into supporting new languages and runtime environments.
- Help make things more secure and support open-source projects like Node.js Core and Next.js in using WebAssembly instead of native code.
- Write code examples and create learning materials to help the Rust and Node.js communities make smaller and faster WebAssembly files.
- Make the development tools we have in the browser (like the command line and npm tools) better.
Key Qualifications for the Backend Engineer role at OrgByte
- Extensive experience in building scalable backend systems from scratch is required.
- Excellent skills in solving complex technical challenges are necessary.
- Proficiency in Node.js and PostgreSQL is mandatory.
- A strong understanding of API design, data modeling, and backend security is expected.
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of key features is important.
- Experience with real-time systems, escrow logic, or wallet/payment integration is a bonus.
