Responsibilities of the Business Developer at Opay

  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities (markets, partnerships, trends).
  • Conduct market research to identify growth areas and target customers.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for market penetration and revenue growth.
  • Set ambitious, measurable goals for business expansion.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Conduct face-to-face meetings with clients to understand their needs.
  • Manage the sales process from initial contact to closing deals.
  • Develop and implement effective promotional strategies.
  • Gain deep product knowledge and be able to articulate the value proposition to clients.
  • Provide guidance and advice to others regarding product advantages.
  • Regularly analyze market feedback and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay informed about the competitive landscape and regional market trends.

Role Requirements for the Business Developer at Opay

  • Hold an HND/BSc in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Have at least 2 years of experience as a Business Development Executive (BDE) in Merchant Acquiring.
  • Possess prior experience working in a Banking firm or as a Direct Sales Executive in a Commercial Bank.
  • Have a proven track record of success in sales and business development.
  • Demonstrate a history of successfully driving the adoption of financial products by customers.
  • Possess excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Have strong marketing, engagement, and interpersonal skills.
