Responsibilities of the Operations Coordinator at Mongabay
- Organize and manage daily operational data, including tracking publishing output and payment records in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
- Oversee workflow systems, resolve operational issues, and ensure all tasks are completed accurately.
- Help maintain and organize Mongabay’s cloud-based operational platforms.
- Research and propose improvements to automate data processing and enhance workflow efficiency.
- Support hiring logistics, including resume screening, interview scheduling, and onboarding coordination.
- Process salary payments for international contractors.
- Facilitate freelancer onboarding by ensuring contracts and required documents are properly completed.
- Assist the Operations Director in reviewing and refining HR documents, policies, and strategic plans as required.
- Provide regular updates to the Operations Director on project progress and key objectives.
Key Qualifications for the Operations Coordinator at Mongabay
- Minimum two years of experience in data processing, nonprofit administration, project coordination, or a similar role, with a demonstrated record of success.
- Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and consistently accurate in handling tasks.
- Strong database management and data entry skills; experience with Asana is beneficial.
- Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and general technical troubleshooting.
- Exceptional fluency in English (written and spoken); additional language skills are a plus.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office, Excel, Google Drive, and project management software.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and listening skills, with the ability to convey ideas clearly.
- Works collaboratively, follows through on commitments, delivers results, and upholds confidentiality and integrity.
