Responsibilities of the Operations Assistant at CTG
- Provide direct assistance to migrants at transit centers and airports, including profiling, identity verification, documentation checks, and general support.
- Assist with all airport formalities, such as arrivals, check-ins, luggage, immigration, security, and escorting individuals to/from transportation or gates, ensuring special needs are met.
- Support individuals within transit centers or third-party facilities throughout their stay, managing arrivals (sign-in, orientation, provisions, room assignments), ongoing needs, issue resolution, and departures (briefings, luggage, transport).
- Accurately enter and update migrant data in relevant systems, prioritizing the safety, security, and comfort of vulnerable individuals, and immediately reporting any issues to supervisors.
- Provide continuous support at transit centers for extended and overnight periods, ensuring all individual needs are addressed.
- Communicate promptly with third-party facility representatives and supervisors regarding any arising issues.
- Assist in coordinating transportation from various locations by liaising with service providers, verifying identities, ensuring readiness, providing briefings, and supporting baggage handling.
- Offer interpretation services as needed at all locations (airport, transit centers, transport).
- Regularly report on progress and immediately inform supervisors of any critical issues.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and integrity of all paperwork in line with conduct standards and data protection rules.
- Alert management to any non-compliance with SOPs or codes of conduct by staff or partners.
Key Qualifications for the Operations Assistant role at CTG
- A Bachelor’s degree in social work, economics, business administration, or a related field, with at least two years of relevant professional experience.
Prior experience in movement operations, transportation, or management is a significant advantage.
Minimum two years of progressive professional experience, preferably with a UN agency, INGO, or NGO.
Training in emergency and disaster response is beneficial.
Required experience working effectively in diverse, multicultural environments.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, and internet usage.
Strong communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate in a team.
Self-motivated, capable of working with minimal supervision, and able to meet tight deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
