ECOM Nigeria is hiring an accountant to perform treasury and finance, inventory entry and reporting, receivables and payables reconciliation, tax, and other statutory payments duties. The Accountant will report to the Senior Accountant and the role is based at our Ilupeju Office in Lagos.

Responsibilities of the Accountant at ECOM Nigeria
- Managing payment processes from document review and schedule preparation to online uploads, tracking, beneficiary notification, and bank instruction letters.
- Maintaining vendor records and performing data entry for customer collections, payments, and interbank transfers in the ERP system.
- Systematically filing and archiving invoices, records, waybills, goods receipt notes, and sales invoices.
- Preparing and circulating weekly and monthly inventory reports, ageing reports, and reconciliation reports.
- Accurately entering customer and supplier account data for invoices, debits, and credit notes.
- Analyzing key supplier performance metrics for imports and assigning ratings.
- Preparing and distributing customer ageing analyses to sales managers for overdue accounts.
- Handling periodic filing of tax returns and monthly reconciliation of WHT and statutory deductions.
Key Qualifications for theAccountant role at ECOM Nigeria
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (E.g., ICAN/Final Stage of ICAN) is required.
- Minimum of 3 years’ accounting experience, preferably in an FMCG, Agribusiness or Commodity Trading environment.
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of integrity, confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and financial reporting.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teams in the organisation and external partners.
- Proficiency in MS Office Package, especially Excel.
- Working knowledge of Sage will be an added advantage.
