Responsibilities of the R&D Officer at AACE foods
- Conceive and test new food products that meet AACE Foods’ standards for quality and align with consumer preferences.
- Refine existing food recipes to improve their flavor, nutritional value, longevity, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct research on raw materials, ingredients, and emerging food trends to drive innovation at AACE Foods.
- Collaborate closely with the quality assurance and production teams to ensure a smooth transition when scaling up product manufacturing.
- Maintain thorough records of product formulas, testing outcomes, and research findings.
- Ensure all food products comply with regulations from NAFDAC, SON, and other relevant food safety and quality authorities.
- Work with the procurement and supply chain departments to source high-quality raw materials for AACE Foods.
- Perform sensory evaluations and consumer testing to optimize product development.
- Stay informed about industry developments, competitor products, and advancements in food processing technology.
- Assist in resolving production issues related to product recipes and ingredient interactions.
- Collaborate with suppliers to obtain necessary ingredients and packaging materials for AACE Foods’ products.
- Present innovative product concepts to company leadership and clients.
Role Requirements for the R&D Officer at AACE foods
- Must hold a first degree in Food Science and Technology or similar fields. Having relevant professional certifications will be considered favorably.
- Requires 3 to 5 years of work experience in Research and Development within the food processing sector.
- Needs a strong understanding of food formulation principles, how ingredients function, and the processes involved in product development.
- Should be knowledgeable about food safety regulations, quality assurance standards, and laboratory testing procedures.
- Must have practical experience with sensory evaluation techniques, conducting shelf-life studies, and implementing process improvements.
- Ability to analyze and interpret research data to apply it effectively in practical situations is necessary.
- Must possess strong problem-solving skills and a meticulous approach to tasks.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential for effective collaboration across different departments.
- Leadership qualities are desired.
