Background
The Government of the Republic of Mauritius is offering scholarships to deserving students who are resident citizens of member states of the African Union or African Commonwealth countries for full-time, on-campus undergraduate, MPhil, MPhil/PhD and PhD programmes tenable in public Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Mauritius.

Eligibility Requirements for The Mauritius Africa Scholarship Scheme
- Candidates must be resident citizens of member states of the African Union or African Commonwealth countries.
- For undergraduate programmes, applicants should be above 18 years of age and should not have reached their 26th birthday by 01 January 2026
- For MPhil, MPhil/PhD and PhD programmes, applicants should not have reached 40 years by 01 January 2026.
- Applicants must have already applied for a full-time on-campus programme (Diploma, Degree, MPhil or PhD) at a public Higher Education Institution in Mauritius.
- For Undergraduates, a minimum of five (5) credits at School Certificate (S.C), or General Certificate of Education (G.C.E) ‘O’ Level inclusive of a credit in English Language
- For MPhil or MPhil/PhD applicants, a Bachelor with Honours with at least a 2nd Class in the relevant field or equivalent.
- For PhD applicants, a master’s degree or equivalent in the relevant field
