Eligibility Requirements for the Australia Awards Scholarships in Africa
- Applicants must be at least 25 years old by February 1, 2026.
- They should possess a minimum of five years of professional experience relevant to their chosen field of study.
- Applicants must be currently employed at the time of their scholarship application.
- They must be citizens of eligible African countries, residing in and applying from their country of citizenship, except those working for an African Regional Organisation or on a diplomatic mission for their home country.
- Applicants should not already hold or be currently pursuing a Master’s degree or its equivalent.
- They must hold an undergraduate degree that is equivalent to an Australian undergraduate degree.
- Applicants should not have previously received a long-term Australia Award.
- They must demonstrate English language proficiency by achieving at least 6.5 in IELTS with no band score below 6.0, or a minimum internet-based TOEFL score of 84 with at least 21 in all subtests, or a PTE Academic overall score of 58 with no communicative skill score below 50.
