Responsibilities of the Software Engineer at Tix
- Design and build backend APIs that power Tix.
- Develop and maintain user-facing features using modern frontend frameworks.
- Improve system performance, reliability, and monitoring.
- Collaborate with product and design to build intuitive, delightful experiences.
- Own projects from ideation to deployment with a strong sense of accountability.
- Contribute to the overall architecture and technical direction of the platform.
Key Qualifications for the Software Engineer at Tix
- Real-world experience building and shipping products in Ruby and JavaScript/Node.js. (Side projects are great, but we’re looking for someone who’s worked with these tools in production).
- Proficiency in at least one frontend framework—ideally Ember.js or Vue.js.
- Solid understanding of API development and monitoring.
- Demonstrated competence in writing SQL and building useful reports.
- A product mindset—you think beyond the code and care about how your work impacts real users.
- An unwavering commitment to precision, consistency, and attention to detail.
- Highly organised and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and take full ownership of outcomes.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills—you can clearly explain technical decisions and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with leadership, operations, and other parts of the business.
- An open mind, a willingness to learn, and a solid commitment to continuous self-improvement.
