Background

As they scale, they are looking for a Content Marketing Lead who will play a pivotal role in shaping their brand narrative, increasing visibility, and driving engagement through strategic content creation and distribution.
Responsibilities of the Content Marketing Lead at Selar
- Develop and implement a content marketing strategy that drives traffic, engagement, Research, write, and publish high-quality, SEO-optimized articles to rank high.
- Maintain our current SEO ranking by constantly updating articles on the blog
- Research for new keywords we can rank for and create SEO content around those keywords.
- Come up with disruptive content marketing ideas that increase customer engagement
- Lead the execution of weekly newsletters, educating and engaging our creators
- Work closely with the Social Media and Product Marketing teams to create compelling product-focused content across various channels.
- Lead the execution of some major content campaigns like Creator stories, Selar 100, etc
- Collaborate with the social media team to distribute written blog content across multiple platforms.
- Write content that appeals to the East African and francophone African market
- Identify and pitch guest posting opportunities, securing backlinks that enhance Selar’s domain authority.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to work on different case studies, reports, ebooks, and lead magnets that will not just deliver value to our community/users, but also increase brand # of users and brand loyalty.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to measure the success of content marketing efforts
- Prepare regular reports on content performance and provide insights for improvement.
Role Requirements for the Content Marketing Lead at Selar
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in content marketing, SEO writing, or a similar role.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong understanding of SEO best practices, keyword research, and content optimization.
- Familiarity with content management systems (e.g., WordPress) and analytics tools (Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs, etc.).
- Ability to develop creative and engaging content strategies that drive growth.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to measure content performance and iterate for better results.
- Proactive, innovative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Experience in tech or agency is an added advantage.
- Ability to work on multiple projects at once effectively.
