A Data Analyst & R Developer is needed to optimize and update statistical models, while also delivering critical financial analyses.

Role Summary

Keep R software libraries current and compatible with newer R versions.
Adapt R programs to run on a network of Linux computers instead of a single Windows machine.
Modify R libraries to reflect changes in the mathematical models they use, such as adjusting risk assessment models for new years.
Resolve coding issues and enhance code performance within set deadlines.
Receive analysis requests, identify required data, and ask questions to understand the analysis’s purpose and context.
Explain the model’s output and summarize its performance.
Organize financial data like risk adjustments, premiums, and claims into clear reports.
Evaluate the potential financial outcomes of changes in regulations, market conditions, or agreements.

Ability to think on your feet and adapt.
Know when to ask questions.
Questions should be about purpose of task, how to handle unexpected data.
Ability to interpret raw data and perform transformations of data.
Ability to explain steps taken in analysis and reasons for those steps.
Ability to create easy to follow documentation of work so it is reproducible by others.
